Welcome To Moosehill Pembroke Welsh Corgis. We are a small hobby kennel that is striving to raise and show healthy, happy quality Pembroke Welsh Corgis. Our dogs live with us in a home environment surrounded by family, friends, sheep, cattle and lots of interaction. We live on Moosehill Farm, an old historic homestead which dates back to the Revolutionary War. Our farm has been lovingly renovated since purchasing it in 1988 and we raise Romney sheep and Hereford Cattle on a small scale. Corgis came into our lives in 1999 after Carla met her first while showing her Romney Sheep at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Show. There was an instant attraction to the breed for its comical happy and fearless personality. Carla knew that the Corgi could certainly fit into her active lifestyle and maybe be useful around the farm. And so the Love Affair with Corgis began...
....Tilly, Cedar Runs Miss Matilda, was brought home at the end of 1999 along with her sister Maddie who after the long ride home from VT, wound her way into the heart of my sister Annie Baker of Heartwood Corgis.
From these two wonderful dogs came the desire to get into the show scene. In 2000, we attended our first Mayflower Pembroke Welsh Corgi Specialty in CT and the PWCCA National Show in Pennsylvania. I was lucky enough to meet Cindy and Vince Savioli in my quest for knowledge about the breed and they became my friends and mentors. Buddy, CH Aubreys Back In My Arms Again (CH Aubrey Brookehaven Outlandish X CH Pinemeade Watercolors), came into my life later that year. I learned so much with this beautiful dog at my side,. we attended classes, specialties and all breed shows. His championship was completed with his 4th major July 6th 2002 under respected Judge Dr.J.D. Jones.
Through the help again of Cindy & Vince I was able to choose and purchase my first show bitch. Eva, Putnams Oh So Chic, (CH Aubrey Oakwind Armful Of Fun X CH Putnams Dazzling Splendor). She is a nice balanced bitch and had some very nice placements at all breed shows and the Mayflower Specialty. The show ring really wasn't her thing. This fearless little dog preferred herding the cattle in the field and running the farm. We decided to breed Eva and with the help of my friend Dianne Connolly had a wonderful litter of 7 by CH Aberlee Storm Force ROMX. We are now showing our first homebred bitch Betty, Moosehills Can't Stop Lov'n Ewes.
Take a look at our dogs and enjoy.
